• ronan does this ALL the time
• when they’re in class and the teacher is boring him, when adam is studying, when they’re going to sleep, when they’re smooshed in the backseat of the camaro, when they are lying on the hood of the bmw under the stars
• adam can’t hear him obviously and assumes ronan is saying asinine things so he just *rolls eyes and smirks*
• he’s missing the slight blush that ronan always get’s when he’s whispering into his deaf ear hhhhhhaahah kill me
• adam can always tell when ronan is getting ready to do one of his little whispers, ronan leans in towards him quickly with a stupid grin on his face
• one night they are sitting on the bed in st. agnes, adam laying against ronan’s chest reading a book as ronan has his back against the wall
• adam feels ronan start to shift and lean down and he’s Not In The Mood
• also it slightly bother’s him sometimes that ronan is taking advantage of his deaf ear
• but then ronan surprises him and leans towards his good ear
• “god you’re so beautiful, adam parrish, i swear you’re the most amazing person in the world.”
  
• adam is shocked and **blushing** because ronan being so openly sentimental??? 
• he twists around to look ronan in the eyes, and whispers “is that- is that what you’ve been saying all this time?”
• ronan smirks and says “well, not exactly, variations i gu-”
• and adam kisses him, smiling against ronan’s lips
• when they break apart, cheeks all flushed adam grins and says “use the good ear only from now on please”
