it’s obvious, to me & my optimistic thinking at least, that Bellamy’s playing a game in the upcoming season. a dangerous game.
“the real threat is in the walls”. that’s what Marcus said.
the real threat, it would seem, is the people from Camp Jaha rallying together for war & demanding justice by blood. from the impassioned cry of “this land is ours now! resist & you will be greeted by death”, it looks like complete anarchy has unleashed on the people from The Ark and Bellamy, tactful careful calculating Bellamy, is doing what he can to save as many people as possible– something he feels he wasn’t able to do at Mt Weather. and something he cannot do if he’s branded a traitor and locked away.
“i’ve always done what is best for us. i need you to trust that i’m doing that now”
he’s playing double agent. he’s playing into everyone’s perception of him as The Bad Guy and gaining the trust of the People In Power.
i mean this is all speculation bc literally all I have to go off of here is a dark 2 minute trailer i just watched 5 minutes ago on my phone but I can see the picture they’re TRYING to paint in the trailer– the “Bellamy has been hardened & is in the wrong again & everyone else is against him” vibe– and my bullshit radar is going crazy.
Because, to me, it looks like everyone else (including & especially Clarke and her awful hair) got a “break” after mt. weather to “recover”. But Bellamy? Bellamy never got to rest. Bellamy is still in the midst of his mission to sabotage the enemy from the inside.
only, this time, the enemy has changed.
