He reads all my novels at the page proof stage, which is the wretched final stage of novel-making — after drafting, after editing, after line-editing, after copy-editing, when the book has been set into proper pages and is being checked one last time for missing words and typos and continuity mishaps. It is a wretched process because something will always get missed, no matter how hard we try, and it is a wretched process because at that point I have read the book so many times that none of the words look like they belong to the English language. 

That is when Lover — with his super power of objectivity — reads it. Together we compile a list of notes to send back to the publisher. They are very boring. They look like this.

I asked Lover what his favorite scene from The Raven King was. It is too spoilery to tell you with any level of specificity, but it involves Ronan and Blue bumping fists, followed by some light squad-goal action. Possibly you will know it when you see it.
